Enriching the Lives of Seniors
Most people have a positive association with Springtime. Spring evokes a sense of renewal, rejuvenation, and growth when flowers bloom and trees bud. It symbolises hope, and is a time when people feel energised and inspired by the beauty of nature’s transformation. “Where the Flowers Bloom” by the Singapore Chinese Dance Theatre (SCDT) aptly captures this energy and spirit through dance.
Following the very well received live triple-bill performance in August 2023, SCDT and Avventura are set to re-imagine the work as a 180-degree VR production. It will be timed for release in Spring 2025 as part of an island-wide VR screening tour and community engagement project targeted at senior citizens in senior care centres who may not have the opportunity to attend dance performances and arts events. “Where the Flowers Bloom” was chosen for this project because its theme and concept captures the nature of Chinese cultural arts where goodness and beauty are upheld - qualities which will resonate with the elderly regardless of ethnicity.
"Where the Flowers Bloom VR" will begin touring selected senior care centres in March and April of 2025.
