Preserving Intangible Heritage: Kuchipudi

Kuchipudi is a classical Indian dance form that originated in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India. It is named after the village of Kuchipudi in Andhra Pradesh, where it was first performed. The dance form is characterized by its intricate footwork, graceful movements, and subtle facial expressions.

 

Kuchipudi is one of five dance forms featured in Divine Expressions: A VR Showcase of Indian Classical Dances. It will feature the brilliant dancer and choreographer, Shantha Ratii. Shantha is widely recognised for her artistry, beauty, and poise, and has performed and promoted the Kuchipudi dance form in major festivals in India and internationally.
